The city of Henderson has scheduled its municipal primary election April 5, and general election June 7.  Find out more about possible candidates, and which council member cannot run again.

The City Council voted Tuesday night to schedule the votes on the nonpartisan seats currently held by Gerri Schroder, Debra March and term-limited Steve Kirk.

Kirk has already served three terms on the council in Nevada’s second-most populous city.

Mayor Andy Hafen and Councilwoman Kathleen Boutin both started four-year tenures on the five-member council in 2009.

City spokesman Bud Cranor tells the Las Vegas Sun that candidates have to live in the ward they’d represent, but the vote is at-large.

Candidacy filing dates are Jan. 25 and 27, and Jan. 31 and Feb. 3 at the city clerk’s office at City Hall.
