Just one day into his latest retirement, Brett Favre is facing a sexual harrassment lawsuit from two women. ABC News reports Favre and the New York Jets are named in the lawsuit by two massage therapists who worked for the team in 2008 when Favre played there. The suit calls the Jets’ locker room and training camp “a hot bed of sexual harassment, sexism and inappropriate behavior.” The women, Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole, also sued another woman who hires massage therapists for the Jets, according to the report. Scavo alleges, among other things, that Favre sent racy text messages propositioning her and another woman. Scavo said that she and O’Toole were never offered work with the Jets again after Scavo’s husband called to demand an apology from the quarterback.
Favre was fined $50,000 by the NFL last month after the league found him uncooperative in its investigation of alleged lewd text messages he sent to former Jets employee Jenn Sterger back in 2008. The 41-year-old Favre, the all-time leader in many NFL passing categories, said he intends to retire for good following his second season with the Minnesota Vikings. He sat out three of the Vikings’ final four games.
