Rain and snow are in the forecast for the Las Vegas Valley today.
The National Weather Service says light snow is expected in areas as low as two-thousand feet, including Mount Charleston, the Spring Mountains, and portions of Nye and Lincoln County. The valley can expect a chance of rain, but forecasters say mostly sunny skies will return to the area on Tuesday. It will also remain chilly, with daytime temperatures in the 40’s and overnight lows around the freezing mark. On Friday, the Weather Service says the high of 38 degrees was the coldest ever for a December 31st in Las Vegas, breaking the old record of 45 degrees set back in 1975.
