Teams Preparing For Las Vegas Bowl
The Boise State Broncos and Utah Utes arrive in town this weekend for the MAACO Las Vegas Bowl. There are several special events and activities taking place leading up to the game on Wednesday evening at Sam Boyd Stadium. On Sunday, players will attend a special welcome reception at the Hard Rock Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, then take in the Cirque du Soleil “Mystere” show at the Treasure Island. On Monday, players from both teams will greet young people at the Sunrise Children’s Hospital and the Summerlin Hospital Children’s Medical Center. Monday night is the Outback Beef Bowl, with the teams enjoying a feast under the Fremont Street Experience. On Tuesday night, the teams will again gather on Fremont Street for pep rallies. In between all of that, the teams will mix in some practices at Sam Boyd Stadium.
For the sixth consecutive year, the game is a sellout, although fans may be able to get tickets from each team’s allotment by checking the Boise State and Utah athletic websites. This year’s game represents one of the biggest matchups in the 19-year history of the Las Vegas Bowl, with Boise State at 11-1 ranked #10 in the nation, and Utah at 10-2 ranked #20. Boise State is a 17-point favorite at the Las Vegas Hilton. The MAACO Las Vegas Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
