Twitter Hopes To Collect Cash
Twitter, one of the most successful social networking sites on the Internet is only four years old but already boasts 175 million users.
Now the company has decided it’s time to make some serious money. Twitter says it’s just raised 200-million-dollars in a deal that values the company at three-point-seven-billion dollars. On its corporate blog Wednesday, Twitter said the cash infusion will help grow the company. Twitter allows subscribers to send 140-character text messages, known as Tweets, to followers. Some people use the service to notify friends and family of high points in their lives. Others use it to chronicle virtually every move they make from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed.
