Suspect In Bellagio Robbery Still At Large

Authorities are still looking for a man who robbed the Bellagio casino at gunpoint and made off with more than one-point-five-million dollars in chips.

Metro Police Lieutenant Clint Nichols says early Tuesday morning, the suspect entered the Bellagio resort, approached a craps table and demanded money. Nichols says the robber had a handgun. The suspect then fled the casino with the chips and was last seen heading west on Flamingo Road on his late-model black sport motorcycle. No shots were fired, and there were no injuries. Nichols says because of industry safeguards, the suspect will find it hard to cash the chips in. Police believe the same man may have been responsible for last Wednesday’s robbery of the Suncoast hotel’s poker room. About 20-thousand dollars was taken in that heist, and surveillance tape from that robbery has been made public. The suspect is described only as a white male who stands five-foot ten-inches tall and weighs 220 pounds.
