Brett Favre’s NFL-record streak of 297 regular-season starts came to an end Monday night. Favre was inactive for the Vikings’ 21-3 loss to the New York Giants at Detroit’s Ford Field. The 41-year-old suffered a severely sprained shoulder a week ago Sunday against Buffalo and his status had been in doubt ever since. Favre said he felt numbness in his hands due to the injury, and was unable to throw a pass. Tarvaris Jackson got the start in his place Monday night against New York. It was the first time since September 27, 1992 Favre did not start a game. Afterward, the QB said he is uncertain if he will play again this season. The Vikings-Giants game was postponed from Sunday and moved to Detroit after the Metrodome roof in Minneapolis collapsed due to heavy snow over the weekend.
