AOL Prepares For Merger

aol icon 385 AOL Prepares For Merger

AOL Incorporated is considering spinning off its lucrative dial up business as it prepares for a possible merger with Yahoo.

The problem is that AOL may not have a ready buyer with enough cash to facilitate a sale, while Yahoo remains uninterested in acquiring AOL’s dial up business.  But Todd Rethemeier, an analyst at Hudson Square Research, said Yahoo could support AOL’s display ad business.  AOL’s plans are said to still be in the exploratory stage.

With Cable Internet services and DSL Internet services availability currently existing, “dial-up” is far too slow to remain a competitive alternative much longer. Dial-up services should be allowed to have a quiet death as technology moves on.

I HAVE BEEN WITH AOL SINCE ALMOST DAY ONE AND PRAY THEY WILL NOT CHANGE. I HAVE ALWAYS ENJOYED THEM AND THEY ARE FAIR AND HONEST WITH US ONLINE FANS….SO AOL DO NOT LEAVE OR CHANGE TOO MUCH. UNOCT@AOL.COM
