The latest from the California Governor’s race.
State Attorney General Jerry Brown is battling Republican Meg Whitman, a former CEO of eBay. Whitman has a vast business background and has never held elective office. She has spent a considerable chunk of her personal wealth on the race. Democrat Brown was governor of the Golden State from 1975 to 1983. The winner succeeds Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Whitman has been embroiled in a controversy after firing a Latina maid who is an illegal immigrant. Meantime, Brown apologized after an unidentified female campaign aide was caught calling Whitman a “whore” in a recorded voice mail.
