Ninth Circuit To Review AZ Immigration Law
Arguments will be heard today by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco involving Arizona’s controversial new immigration law.
The state of Arizona is appealing a ruling from Judge Susan Bolton striking down key components of the law. Arizona Governor Jan Brewer will join a team of lawyers today as they face off against the Justice Department in an attempt to reinstate the most controversial parts of SB 1070. Those sections include a requirement that police check the immigration status of anyone detained if there is a reasonable suspicion they are in the U.S. illegally.
