Golfer's Injury Questioned
Legitimate injury or too much partying? Golf star Anthony Kim pulled out of the PGA’s Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas this week amidst questionable circumstances. The 25-year-old Kim withdrew from the charity tournament on Wednesday, reportedly citing a nagging thumb injury. But the “Las Vegas Review-Journal” reports Kim backed out of the event after he was admonished for “loose cannon” behavior while gambling and partying in Vegas last weekend. According to the website Golf.com, a tweet described Kim as “an animal” who purchased a $25,000 bottle of champagne “which he showered the dance floor with.” A spokesman for Kim said the incident had nothing to do with the decision to withdraw, calling reports of his behavior “overblown.” The Shriners Open continues through Sunday at TPC Summerlin.
