Las Vegas Locos head coach Jim Fassel has announced Drew Willy will be the starting quarterback for this Saturday’s home game against Hartford. Locos starter Tim Rattay was lost for the season with a ruptured achilles suffered in last week’s win over Sacramento. The 23-year-old Willy was Rattay’s backup. He played college ball at Buffalo and was the Indianapolis Colts’ third-stringer last season. The Locos reportedly considered signing J.P. Losman, who was their starter last season when they won the inaugural league title. Losman was cut after going to training camp with the Seattle Seahawks this year. But Fassel said the team had no formal discussions with Losman and decided to go with the player they already have. The Locos, off to a 3-1 start, host the Hartford Colonials at Sam Boyd Stadium on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
