The Major League Baseball playoffs resume Friday with Game 1 of the American League Championship Series between the defending World Series champion New York Yankees and Texas Rangers in Arlington. The Yankees have had plenty of rest after finishing off a sweep of Minnesota in the ALDS last Saturday, while the Rangers were pushed to five games in their first-round series victory over Tampa Bay. The Yankees will start CC Sabathia in Game 1. The rest of their rotation will be Andy Pettite, Phil Hughes, and A.J. Burnett. Burnett was not in the rotation for the Division Series. The Rangers will send C.J. Wilson to the mound in game 1, followed by Colby Lewis in Game 2 and ace Cliff Lee when the series shifts back to New York for Game 3. The NLCS starts Saturday night in Philadelphia as the Phillies battle the San Francisco Giants. That opener will feature an elite pitching matchup of Tim Lincecum for the Giants and Roy Halladay for the Phillies.
