oil spill 385 The Very Latest On The BP Oil Spill

The National Commission has released a new report on the gulf oil spill.

KXNT Morning News spoke to News Director at WWL in New Orleans, Dave Cohen to learn more.

  1. Harold says:

I know that this was supposed to be the worst oil spill in American history but, I personally thing it is getting blown out of this world. Mother nature has taken care of most of the oil spill on her on. There has not been any real damage recorded by biologist studying this area in the Gulf and along the Louisiana coast line. There was no damage as reported that the east coast of Flordia would receive or west coast, or Alabama, or Mississippi except the damage encurred by the local economy for fishing, shrimping, and tourism that was stopped by the federal governments over reaction to the spill. If they had just taken their time to study the resu;ts everyday instead of shutting down the Gulf and the beaches, the cost to recover would be BILLIONS less. Now after the federal government got so overboard in shutting down everything in the waters and beaches, thousands of people have substained heavy monitary damages. The fishing industry, the shrimping industry, the local ecomonies along the beach fronts for tourism are hurting dearly. Not only the industries for fishing & shrimping have lost the last seasons catch but now people fear the industries produce because of lame, scared, inaccurate published information of what MIGHT BE WRONG, BUT WAS NOT PROVING WRONG with the fish, shrimp and osyters, but the beach front for tourist. So I guess the OBAMA government has screwed up the economy for 4 states and numerous states for buying from the industry. I hope everything in my home state geys back to normal quickly, but us cajuns need the government to pay us what is due and then get the HELL out of there and open up the natural oil and gas rigs in the Gulf and stop playing with our lives.
