Miami’s new “Big Three” debut tonight as the Heat open the preseason. Miami hosts Detroit at AmericanAirlines Arena, and it will be the first game in a Heat uniform for LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Both James and Bosh signed as free agents with the Heat last summer, joining longtime Heat star Dwyane Wade in South Beach. James, the two-time reigning NBA MVP, announced on national television in July he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Heat. Bosh moves south after playing the first seven years of his career with the Toronto Raptors. James, Bosh and Wade were selected first, fourth and seventh respectively in the 2003 NBA Draft. James and Wade are six-time All-Stars while Bosh has received the honor five times. With the offseason moves, the Heat are hoping to unseat the two-time defending NBA Champion Lakers. Neither James nor Bosh has won a title, while Wade won a championship with the Heat in 2006 alongside Shaquille O’Neal.
