The University of Nevada Wolfpack is back in the college football poll…for the first time in 62 years. UNR entered both the AP and USA Today coaches polls at #25 this week, marking the school’s first national ranking since 1948. UNR is off to its first 4-0 start since 1991, which was a year before it moved up to Division I-A (now known as the Football Bowl Subdivision.) Elsewhere in the polls, the top 5 is now the same in each poll, with Alabama on top, followed by #2 Ohio State, #3 Boise State, #4 Oregon and #5 TCU. All of the top five remain undefeated, althouth Oregon leapfrogged TCU. Texas took the biggest plunge in both rankings after its stunning blowout home loss to unranked UCLA. The Longhorns fell from 4th to 16th in the coaches poll, and from 7th to 21st in the AP. In the AP, Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma, Stanford and Auburn round out the top 10. In the coaches poll, it’s Nebraska, Florida, Oklahoma, Wisconsin and LSU ranked #6-10.
