Even as former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin remains a prominent political figure, the majority of Americans and a significant number of Republicans doubt she could be an effective president, a new 60 Minutes/Vanity Fair poll shows.
Fifty-nine percent of Americans overall said Palin could not have an effective presidency, according to the poll. Among Republicans, 40 percent said she could not be an effective president. Just 26 percent of Americans had confidence in a Palin presidency.
