Woman Admits To Stealing Girl Scout Cookies
(Georgetown, OH) — An Ohio woman has admitted to stealing over 23-hundred boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. County officials said today that 35-year-old Donya Waits pleaded guilty last week to charges of theft. The cookies were valued at over 82-hundred dollars.
Waits and her husband, 44-year-old Michael Waits, also pleaded guilty to theft by deception for taking over 26-thousand dollars from a 76-year-old man in 2009. Police say they convinced the man they would pay him back once they received a large inheritance. Donya remains in custody at the Brown County Adult Detention Center, while her husband was released on 25-thousand dollars bond.
